Journal ArticleDOI

Studies in histochemistry: LXXVI. Fluorometric determination of histamine in microgram samples of tissue or microliter volumes of body fluids

TL;DR: In this paper, a linear relationship is maintained between fluorescence and concentration of histamine over the range used (2 −8 m μ g 100 μ l sample), and precision of the macro and micro analyses are essentially the same; the latter gave relative standard deviations of 5.3, 3.5, and 2.7% for samples of tissue, blood plasma, and a histamine standard (5 mμg), respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heparin, histamine, and serotonin in normal and malignant mast cells, and nanogram determination of serotonin☆

TL;DR: The quantities of heparin, histamine, and 5-hydroxytryptamine in the same populations of normal rat mast cells from peritoneal washings, and of malignant mouse mast cells, were determined per 106 cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of the phenol-reagent and bromsulfalein-binding methods for determination of protein and its measurement in mast cells.

TL;DR: A critical comparison of the phenol-reagent and bromsulfalein-binding methods for the determination of protein revealed no significant difference in sensitivity or reproducibility, but additional chemical differences between the normal and neoplastic mast cells were shown.
