Disruptions in JET

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe a two-stage MHD instability, where the first stage is caused by a loss of energy from the central region and the second stage is due to an increase in impurity radiation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Non-inductively driven currents in JET

TL;DR: In this paper, neutral beam heating data from JET have been analyzed in detail to determine what proportion of the current is driven non-inductively, and it is found that in low density limiter discharges, currents of the order of 0.5 MA are driven, while in H-mode plasmas currents of a order of 1.7 MA are measured.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetic separatrix experiments in JET

TL;DR: In this article, magnetic separatrix configurations have been produced in JET for plasma currents of up to 3 MA, and experimental results obtained with these configurations show that some features can be achieved that are common to divertor tokamaks.
Journal ArticleDOI

Feedback control of rotating resistive modes

E. Lazzaro, +1 more
- 01 Jun 1988 -
TL;DR: In this article, the response of nonlinear resistive modes to boundary conditions imposed by external conductors and resistive vessels is analyzed in the time domain, and explicit dynamical equations describe the nonlinear evolution of the tearing mode island width and frequency of rotation.
