PAMELA Measurements of Cosmic-Ray Proton and Helium Spectra

TL;DR: PAMELA data challenge the current paradigm of cosmic-ray acceleration in supernova remnants followed by diffusive propagation in the Galaxy and find that the spectral shapes of these two species are different and cannot be described well by a single power law.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of Boron and Carbon Fluxes in Cosmic Rays with the PAMELA Experiment

TL;DR: In this article, the absolute fluxes of boron and carbon nuclei as well as the B/C ratio from the PAMELA space experiment were measured for data taken in the period 2006 July to 2008 March.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of boron and carbon fluxes in cosmic rays with the PAMELA experiment

TL;DR: In this article, the absolute fluxes of boron and carbon nuclei, as well as the B/C ratio, from the PAMELA space experiment were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Status of the GAMMA-400 Project

TL;DR: In this paper, the preliminary design of the new space gamma-ray telescope GAMMA-400 for the energy range 100 MeV-3 TeV is presented, which is optimized to address a broad range of science topics, such as search for signatures of dark matter, studies of galactic and extragalactic gamma-rays sources, Galactic and extrgalactic diffuse emission, gamma burst, as well as high-precision measurements of spectra of cosmic-ray electrons, positrons, and nuclei.
Journal ArticleDOI

The discovery of geomagnetically trapped cosmic ray antiprotons

TL;DR: The existence of a significant flux of antiprotons confined to Earth's magnetosphere has been considered in several theoretical works as discussed by the authors, which constitutes the main source of trapped protons at energies above some tens of MeV.
