Analytical methods for the determination of halogens in bioanalytical sciences: a review

TL;DR: The commonest sample preparation methods, as extraction and decomposition using combustion and pyrohydrolysis, are reviewed, as well as spectrometric and electroanalytical techniques, spectrophotometry, total reflection X-ray fluorescence, neutron activation analysis, and separation systems using chromatography and electrophoresis are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of ZnAl2O4 nanoparticles by different routes and the effect of its pore size on the photocatalytic process

TL;DR: In this article, the structural properties of the powders were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and N 2 adsorption/desorption isotherms (BET) and its photocatalytic activity was comparatively evaluated in the degradation of the textile dye, Reactive Red 141, in aqueous solution under sunlight.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microencapsulation of anthocyanin compounds extracted from blueberry (Vaccinium spp.) by spray drying: Characterization, stability and simulated gastrointestinal conditions

TL;DR: In this paper, microencapsulated anthocyanin compounds extracted from blueberry (Vaccinium spp.) by spray drying using different inlet air temperatures (120, 140 and 160°C) and wall materials (maltodextrin DE20 and hi-maize) were evaluated to evaluate the microcapsule characteristics, stability and behavior under simulated gastrointestinal tract conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Application of Zn2SnO4 photocatalyst prepared by microwave-assisted hydrothermal route in the degradation of organic pollutant under sunlight

TL;DR: Zn 2 SnO 4 crystals were successfully synthesized under microwave-assisted irradiation as mentioned in this paper, and the structural properties of the powders were investigated by X-ray diffraction and N 2 adsorption/desorption isotherms (BET).
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of oxygen pressurized microwave-assisted digestion of botanical materials using diluted nitric acid

TL;DR: The proposed procedure was in agreement with the recommendations of the green chemistry once it was possible to obtain relatively high digestion efficiency (RCC<5%) using only diluted HNO(3), which is important to minimize the generation of laboratory residues.
