Journal ArticleDOI
Stent underexpansion and residual reference segment stenosis are related to stent thrombosis after sirolimus-eluting stent implantation: An intravascular ultrasound study
Kenichi Fujii,Stephane Carlier,Gary S. Mintz,Yi-ming Yang,Issam Moussa,Giora Weisz,George Dangas,Roxana Mehran,Alexandra J. Lansky,Edward M. Kreps,Michael B. Collins,Gregg W. Stone,Jeffrey W. Moses,Martin B. Leon +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the predictors of stent thrombosis after sirolimus-eluting stent (SES) implantation were determined. But, their results were limited to 15 patients who developed STC after successful SES implantation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effectiveness of clopidogrel and aspirin versus ticlopidine and aspirin in preventing stent thrombosis after coronary stent implantation.
Issam Moussa,Mathew Oetgen,Gary S. Roubin,Antonio Colombo,Xangdong Wang,Sriram S. Iyer,Roberta Maida,Michael B. Collins,Edward M. Kreps,Jeffrey W. Moses +9 more
TL;DR: Clopidogrel may be an effective pharmacological regimen after coronary stent implantation because of the simpler dosing regimen, the absence of neutropenia, and the lower frequency of other side effects make it a safe alternative to ticlopidine.
Journal ArticleDOI
Contribution of Stent Underexpansion to Recurrence After Sirolimus-Eluting Stent Implantation for In-Stent Restenosis
Kenichi Fujii,Gary S. Mintz,Yoshio Kobayashi,Stephane Carlier,Hideo Takebayashi,Takenori Yasuda,Issam Moussa,George Dangas,Roxana Mehran,Alexandra J. Lansky,Arlene Reyes,Edward M. Kreps,Michael Collins,Antonio Colombo,Gregg W. Stone,Paul S. Teirstein,Martin B. Leon,Jeffrey W. Moses +17 more
TL;DR: Stent underexpansion is a significant cause of failure after sirolimus-eluting stent (SES) implantation treatment of in-stent restenosis (ISR).
Journal ArticleDOI
Intravascular ultrasound assessment of ulcerated ruptured plaques: a comparison of culprit and nonculprit lesions of patients with acute coronary syndromes and lesions in patients without acute coronary syndromes.
Kenichi Fujii,Yoshio Kobayashi,Gary S. Mintz,Hideo Takebayashi,George Dangas,Issam Moussa,Roxana Mehran,Alexandra J. Lansky,Edward M. Kreps,Michael Collins,Antonio Colombo,Gregg W. Stone,Martin B. Leon,Jeffrey W. Moses +13 more
TL;DR: Ruptured plaques in culprit lesions of ACS patients have smaller lumens; greater plaque burdens, area stenosis, and remodeling indices; and more thrombus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bifurcation Coronary Lesions Treated With the “Crush” Technique: An Intravascular Ultrasound Analysis
Ricardo A. Costa,Gary S. Mintz,Stephane Carlier,Alexandra J. Lansky,Issam Moussa,Kenichi Fujii,Hideo Takebayashi,Takenori Yasuda,Jose de Ribamar Costa,Yoshihiro Tsuchiya,Lisette Okkels Jensen,Ecaterina Cristea,Roxana Mehran,George Dangas,Sriram S. Iyer,Michael Collins,Edward M. Kreps,Antonio Colombo,Gregg W. Stone,Martin B. Leon,Jeffrey W. Moses +20 more
TL;DR: In the majority of bifurcation lesions treated with the crush technique, the smallest minimum stent area appeared at the SB ostium, which may contribute to a higher restenosis rate at this location.
