Journal ArticleDOI
The 1,2,3-triazole ring as a bioisostere in medicinal chemistry
Elisa Bonandi,Michael S. Christodoulou,Gaia Fumagalli,Dario Perdicchia,Giulio Rastelli,Daniele Passarella +5 more
TL;DR: An overview of the 1,2,3-triazole ring as a bioisostere for the design of drug analogs, highlighting relevant recent examples.
Journal ArticleDOI
Catalytic C3 aza-alkylation of indoles.
Elisa Bonandi,Dario Perdicchia,Eleonora Colombo,Francesca Foschi,Paola Marzullo,Daniele Passarella +5 more
TL;DR: This review summarizes the recent (2000-2019) meaningful papers in which the in-depth study and exploitation of the aza-alkylation reaction at indole's C3 position is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of Thicolchicine-Based Conjugates: Investigation towards Bivalent Tubulin/Microtubules Binders
Elisa Bonandi,Francesca Foschi,Cristina Marucci,Federico Dapiaggi,Maurizio Sironi,Stefano Pieraccini,Michael S. Christodoulou,Francisco de Asís Balaguer,J. Fernando Díaz,Nace Zidar,Daniele Passarella +10 more
TL;DR: The study better clarifies the design of bivalent compounds that target hetero tubulin/microtubules and suggests that the lipophilic nature of the linker used renders the resulting compounds better substrates for p-Gp efflux pumps.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vincamine by synthesis and semi-synthesis
Elisa Bonandi,Francesca Foschi,Cristina Marucci,Giuseppe Paladino,Marcello Luzzani,Daniele Passarella +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the main strategies aimed at the total synthesis of vincamine and congeners are summarized and characterisation and quantification of the main impurities are discussed, and HPLC conditions, structural elucidation and NMR data of four of them are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Total Synthesis of (–)-Anaferine: A Further Ramification in a Diversity-Oriented Approach
TL;DR: The exploration of another ramification of the DOS approach led to the stereoselective total synthesis of (–)-anaferine, a bis-piperidine alkaloid present in Withania somnifera extract, obtained in 9% overall yield over 13 steps.
