Journal ArticleDOI

chemical composition, plant genetic differences, antimicrobial and antifungal activity investigation of the essential oil of Rosmarinus officinalis L.

TL;DR: The antimicrobial and antifungal tests showed a weak activity of Sardinian rosemary, and an inductive effect on fungal growth, especially toward Fusarium graminearum was observed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemotype and genotype chemometrical evaluation applied to authentication and traceability of “Tonda Gentile Trilobata” hazelnuts from Piedmont (Italy)

TL;DR: The analysis of chemotype allowed differentiating the Chilean sample from the other ‘‘Tonda Gentile Trilobata’’ hazelnuts, whilst no genetic differences were observed amongst these samples and genomic data confirmed that RAPD is able to discriminate amongst cultivars.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) of puroindoline b and ribosomal/puroindoline b multiplex PCR for the detection of common wheat (Triticum aestivum) in Italian pasta

TL;DR: Universal ribosomal primers written on internal transcribed spacers region (ITS) have been employed to set up a multiplex PCR protocol and this approach allows obtaining a useful tool to distinguish the presence of soft wheat in pasta.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Method to Check and Discover Adulteration of Nebbiolo-Based Monovarietal Musts: Detection of Barbera and Dolcetto cv via SSR Analysis Coupled with Lab-On-Chip® Microcapillary Electrophoresis

TL;DR: The aims of this work are the selection of performing SSR markers able to discriminate Barbera and Dolcetto grapes in Nebbiolo musts and the hyphenated use of capillary micro-electrophoresis (lab-on-chip technology) for polymorphisms detection, to highlight the presence of foreign grape in ‘Nebbiola’ musts produced in purity, as required by the designation disciplinary.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical characterization and DNA tracking of Sardinian botargo by Mugil cephalus from different geographical origins.

TL;DR: Primary component analysis (PCA) of random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) and proteins, coupled with both, did not differentiate samples from different origins and chemical and molecular data exclude the differentiation of samples from diverse origins.
