Journal ArticleDOI
Transcranial direct current stimulation of the prefrontal cortex modulates the desire for specific foods.
Felipe Fregni,Fernanda Tebexreni Orsati,Waldelle Pedrosa,Shirley Fecteau,Fatima Aparecida Miglioli Fernandez Tome,Michael A. Nitsche,Tatiana Pontrelli Mecca,Elizeu Coutinho de Macedo,Alvaro Pascual-Leone,Paulo S. Boggio +9 more
TL;DR: Modulation of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex with noninvasive brain stimulation, namely transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), modifies food craving in healthy subjects and the effects of tDCS on food craving might be related to a modulation of neural circuits associated with reward and decision-making.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transcranial direct current stimulation modulates ERP-indexed inhibitory control and reduces food consumption ☆
Olivia Morgan Lapenta,Karina Di Sierve,Elizeu Coutinho de Macedo,Felipe Fregni,Paulo S. Boggio +4 more
TL;DR: It is observed that active DLPFC tDCS, compared with sham stimulation, reduced the frontal N2 component and enhanced the P3a component of responses to No-go stimuli, regardless of the stimulus condition (food or furniture).
Journal ArticleDOI
Cognitive performance in Rett syndrome girls: a pilot study using eyetracking technology.
Patricia Menezes Baptista,Marcos T Mercadante,Elizeu Coutinho de Macedo,José Salomão Schwartzman +3 more
TL;DR: The rate of correct answers suggests that there is measurable and intentional gaze in RS girls and it can be used as a path to explore their cognitive performance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bayley-III Scales of Infant and Toddler Development: Transcultural Adaptation and Psychometric Properties
Vanessa Madaschi,Tatiana Pontrelli Mecca,Elizeu Coutinho de Macedo,Cristiane Silvestre de Paula +3 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the psychometric properties of the Bayley Scales of Infant Development, Third Edition (Bayley-III) and found that the Bailey-III demonstrated good internal consistency with alpha coefficients greater than or equal to.90.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Mood Variation in Mothers of Preterm Infants in Kangaroo Mother Care and Conventional Incubator Care
Elizeu Coutinho de Macedo,Fernando Guimarães Cruvinel,Katerina Lukasova,Maria Eloisa Famá D'Antino +3 more
TL;DR: A positive effect of the KMC on the mood variation of preterm mothers is shown and points to the need of a more humane experience during the incubator care.
