TL;DR: An imbalance in the formation of reactive oxygen species and antioxidant micronutrients may be important in the pathogenesis and/or perpetuation of the tissue injury in IBD and may provide a rationale for therapeutic modulation with antioxidants.
Journal ArticleDOI

Journal ArticleDOI
Sclerosing cholangitis, chronic pancreatitis, and Sjogren's syndrome: a syndrome complex.
TL;DR: The disease complex of chronic pancreatitis, sclerosing cholangitis, and Sjogren's syndrome seems to be a well-defined entity with an autoimmune cause similar to that which occurs in primary biliary cirrhosis.
Journal Article
Atypical rectosigmoid histology in children with newly diagnosed ulcerative colitis.
TL;DR: Patchy or absent inflammation of the rectum and sigmoid can be present in untreated children with UC at disease onset and these data must be considered when treatments or clinical research protocols are designed to include children with colitis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Origin of cardiac mucosa: ontogenic consideration.
