Utilization and efficiency of ground granulated blast furnace slag on concrete properties – A review

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) utilization and efficiency on the properties of mortar/concrete is presented, including workability, setting time, bleeding, rheological properties, slump loss, segregation resistance and early age cracking potential and finishability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Properties of self-compacting concretes made with binary, ternary, and quaternary cementitious blends of fly ash, blast furnace slag, and silica fume

TL;DR: In this paper, a durability-based multi-objective optimization of the mixtures were performed to achieve an optimal concrete mixture proportioning, and the results indicated that when the durability properties of the concretes were taken into account, the ternary use of S and SF provided the best performance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Appraisal of long-term effects of fly ash and silica fume on compressive strength of concrete by neural networks

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of fly ash and silica fume replacement content on the strength of concrete cured for a long-term period of time by neural networks were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Strength and drying shrinkage properties of self-compacting concretes incorporating multi-system blended mineral admixtures

TL;DR: In this paper, compressive strength and particularly drying shrinkage properties of self-compacting concretes containing binary, ternary, and quaternary blends of Portland cement, fly ash (FA), ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS), silica fume (SF), and metakaolin (MK) were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Fly Ash and PVA Fiber on Microstructural Damage and Residual Properties of Engineered Cementitious Composites Exposed to High Temperatures

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of high volumes of fly ash and micro polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibers on the fire resistance and microstructure of engineered cementitious composites (ECC) is examined.
