Herpes Simplex Virus Ribonucleotide Reductase Induced in Infected BHK-21/C13 Cells: Biochemical Evidence for the Existence of Two Non-identical Subunits, H1 and H2

TL;DR: The results of the study on herpes simplex virus (HSV) ribonucleotide reductase are in favour of the existence of two subunits, H1 and H2, different from the mammalian sub units, M1 and M2.
Journal ArticleDOI

The human immunodeficiency virus type 1 Vpr protein upregulates PVR via activation of the ATR-mediated DNA damage response pathway.

TL;DR: It is shown that expression of the human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) Vpr protein in Jurkat T cells increases cell-surface and total PVR levels and contributes to PVR up-modulation in HIV-infected CD4(+) T lymphocytes and inhibits the PVR downregulating activity of the viral Nef protein.

Journal ArticleDOI

Activities of both ribonucleotide reductase subunits, M1 and M2, decrease upon serum starvation of baby hamster kidney 21/C13 cells

TL;DR: A posttranslational mechanism probably exists which inactivates M1 subunit when cells stay in the quiescent (G0) state and this mechanism could play an important role in the control of ribonucleotide reductase activity.
