Journal ArticleDOI

Dissolution of uranium oxides under alkaline oxidizing conditions

TL;DR: In this article, the dissolution characteristics of UO2, U3O8, and UO3 in aqueous peroxide-containing carbonate solutions were investigated, and the experimental parameters investigated included carbonate countercation (NH4 +, Na+, K+, and Rb+) and H2O2 concentration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Integrated separation scheme for measuring a suite of fission and activation products from a fresh mixed fission and activation product sample

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the production of a complex synthetic sample containing fission products, activation products, and irradiated soil, and determine the percent chemical recovery of select isotopes through the integrated chemical separation scheme.
Journal ArticleDOI

Separation and quantification of chemically diverse analytes in neutron irradiated fissile materials

TL;DR: This work optimized a proposed sequence of separation steps to allow for the timely quantification of analytes of interest and evaluated this scheme using an irradiated sample to examine the adequacy of separations for measurement of desired analytes by gamma spectrometry.
