Journal ArticleDOI

Interactions of effects of host plant resistance and seed treatments on soybean aphid (Aphis glycines Matsumura) and soybean cyst nematode (Heterodera glycines Ichinohe).

TL;DR: It is suggested that the seed treatments included in the experiments may suppress pests, but not consistently for all soybean cultivars or study sites, and the planting of HPR cultivars should be a primary tool for integrated pest management of both soybean pests.
Journal ArticleDOI

Within-field distribution of the sunflower midge (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae)

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the larval hatching rate from different-sized egg masses with regression to determine an estimation technique for combining numbers of eggs and larvae in sunsower midge infestation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluating Soybean Aphid-Resistant Varieties in Different Environments to Estimate Financial Outcomes

TL;DR: No significant difference in yield was observed between resistant and susceptible varieties, revealing this trait is as effective at protecting yield as an insecticide application on susceptible varieties at the high-risk location.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Rag1 on the Preference and Performance of Soybean Defoliators

TL;DR: In the majority of preference tests, no effect of Rag1 was detected, and in cases where preferences were found, there was no consistent pattern of preference for Rag1 vs. susceptible leaf tissue, suggesting effects of antibiosis.
