Comparison of experimental and operational modal analysis on a laboratory test plate
Esben Orlowitz,Anders Brandt +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a comparison of EMA and OMA tests of a Plexiglas plate is presented and compared for the first ten modes of the plate, and it is concluded that no significant differences were found between modal parameters obtained by OMA and EMA.

Comparison of Experimental and Operational Modal Analysis on a Laboratory Test Plate
Esben Orlowitz,Anders Brandt +1 more
TL;DR: A thorough comparison of EMA and OMA tests of a Plexiglas plate is presented and it is concluded that no significant differences were found between modal parameters obtained by OMA and EMA.
Book ChapterDOI
Influence of Noise in Correlation Function Estimates for Operational Modal Analysis
Esben Orlowitz,Anders Brandt +1 more
TL;DR: It is shown how effects of measurement noise can be avoided by ignoring the first part of the CFs when estimating the modal parameters, and how to add noise to simulated data, so that it resembles a real-life scenario.
Influence of Correlation Estimation Methods on Damping Estimates
Esben Orlowitz,Anders Brandt +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compare two commonly used methods for estimation of correlation functions, the periodogram (or correlogram) method and the Welch's method, and show that they are statistically equa...
Journal ArticleDOI
Operational Modal Analysis for Dynamic Characterization of a Ro-Lo Ship
Esben Orlowitz,Anders Brandt +1 more
TL;DR: The dynamic characteristics of ship structures are becoming more important as the flexibility of modern ships increases, for example, to predict reliable design life as mentioned in this paper, which requires an accurate dyna...
