Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of the effects of crocin, safranal and diclofenac on local inflammation and inflammatory pain responses induced by carrageenan in rats.

TL;DR: Anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive activities for crocin, safranal and diclofenac in carrageenan model of local inflammation and inflammatory pain were showed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crocin Improved Learning and Memory Impairments in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats

TL;DR: The results indicate that oxidative stress, hyperglycemia, hypoinsulinemia, and reduction of hippocampal neurons may be involved in learning and memory impairments in STZ-induced diabetic rats.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of curcumin (active substance of turmeric) on the acetic acid-induced visceral nociception in rats.

TL;DR: Data suggest that in the acetic acid-induced visceral nociception of rats, curcumin may produce an antinociceptive effect and the endogenous analgesic opioid system is involved in theCurcumin-induced antinOCiception.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crocin enhanced functional recovery after sciatic nerve crush injury in rats.

TL;DR: The present study suggests that the neuroprotective effects afforded by crocin may be due in part to reduction of free radicals-induced toxic effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of crocin on the morphine-induced antinociception in the formalin test in rats.

TL;DR: Findings indicate that morphine through a naloxone‐sensitive mechanism produced analgesia, and crocin produced a dose‐dependent antinociceptive effect.
