Journal ArticleDOI
Virtual human as a new diagnostic tool, a proof of concept study in the field of major depressive disorders.
Pierre Philip,Jean-Arthur Micoulaud-Franchi,Patricia Sagaspe,Etienne de Sevin,Jérôme Olive,Stéphanie Bioulac,Alain Sauteraud +6 more
TL;DR: The validity and acceptability of an ECA to diagnose major depressive disorders is demonstrated here and ECAs are promising tools to conduct standardized and well-accepted clinical interviews.
Journal ArticleDOI
Trust and acceptance of a virtual psychiatric interview between embodied conversational agents and outpatients.
Pierre Philip,Pierre Philip,Lucile Dupuy,Lucile Dupuy,Marc Auriacombe,Marc Auriacombe,F. Serre,F. Serre,Etienne de Sevin,Etienne de Sevin,Alain Sauteraud,Jean-Arthur Micoulaud-Franchi,Jean-Arthur Micoulaud-Franchi +12 more
TL;DR: The results show a high rate of engagement with the virtual agent that was mainly related to high trust and acceptance of the agent, and open new paths for the future use of VMAs in medicine.
Book ChapterDOI
A Model of Personality and Emotional Traits
TL;DR: A theory of personality and associated emotional traits is considered, and how behaviours associated with personality types in people may be adapted to develop characteristics of virtual agents are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Smartphone-Based Virtual Agents to Help Individuals With Sleep Concerns During COVID-19 Confinement: Feasibility Study.
Pierre Philip,Lucile Dupuy,Charles M. Morin,Etienne de Sevin,Stéphanie Bioulac,Jacques Taillard,Fuschia Serre,Marc Auriacombe,Jean-Arthur Micoulaud-Franchi +8 more
TL;DR: Preliminary results suggest that the KANOPEE app is a promising solution to screen populations for sleep complaints and that it provides acceptable and practical behavioral advice for individuals reporting moderately severe insomnia.
Journal ArticleDOI
A listener model: introducing personality traits
TL;DR: A computational model that generates listening behaviour for a virtual agent that triggers backchannel signals according to the user’s visual and acoustic behaviour is presented and it is found that the selection of the frequency of backchannels performed by the algorithm contributes to the correct interpretation of the agent's behaviour in terms of personality traits.
