The Ln(III) complexes with picrate ligand, [Sm(Pic) 2 (H 2 O) 6 ]Pic.6H 2 O, 1, and [Ho(Pic)(H 2 O) 7 ](Pic) 2 .3H 2 O, 2, have been synthesized and their crystal structures are analyzed by X-ray diffraction methods. Complex 1, crystallizes in the monoclinic P2 l /n space group and complex 2 in the triclinic P-1 space group. In complex 1, two picrate ligands coordinate to the Sm(III) ion, one of them in the bidentate fashion. There are one picrate anion and six water molecules in the crystal lattice. The nine-coordinated Sm(III) ion forms a slightly distorted tricapped trigonal prism. In complex 2, only one picrate ligand coordinates to the metal ion as a monodentate. There are two picrate anions and three water molecules in the crystal lattice. The eight-coordinated Ho(III) ion forms a distorted bicapped trigonal prism. Based on the results of the TG-DTG and DSC thermal analysis, it was analyzed that the lanthanide picrate complexes 1 and 2 are thermally decomposed in three distinctive stages, the dehydration, the picrate decompositions; and the formation of the metal oxide.

Lanthanide Complexes of Some High Energetic Compounds (II), Crystal Structures and Thermal Properties of Picrate Complexes

The title compound, barium gold antimonide, BaAuSb, is isostructural with ZrBeSi, which adopts the space group P63/mmc. The Au and Sb atoms form planar honeycomb layers, with an Au—Sb distance of 2.7402 (3) A.

The Intermetallic Compound BaAgBi

The title compound, [Nd(C6H3N2O5)3(H2O)3], has a nine-coordinated system with a slightly distorted tricapped trigonal prismatic coordination geometry. The NdIII ion is coordinated to three H2O and by three bidentate 2,6-di­nitro­phenolate ligands. The Nd—O bond distances are in the range 2.311 (3)–2.730 (3) A. The Nd—O distances from the nitro groups are 0.2–0.3 A longer than those from the water mol­ecules and the phenolate groups. The coordinated NO2 groups are almost coplanar with the benzene rings. The dihedral angles are in the range 6.72 (18)–26.65 (11)° for the coordinated NO2 groups and 40.3 (2)–67 (1)° for the uncoordinated NO2 groups.

Tri­aqua­tris(2,6‐di­nitro­phenolato)­neodymium(III)

In the title compound, [Y(C6H3N2O5)3(H2O)3], the Y atom is nine-coordinate with a slightly distorted tricapped trigonal prismatic coordination geometry. The YIII ion is coordinated to three bidentate 2,6-di­nitro­phenolate ligands and three water mol­ecules. The Y—O bond distances are in the range 2.217 (3)–2.754 (4) A, with the Y—O distances from the nitro groups being longer than those from the water mol­ecules and the phenol groups. The coordinated NO2 groups are almost coplanar with the benzene rings.
