Antibacterial screening of some Peruvian medicinal plants used in Callería District

TL;DR: Among the plants tested, Phyllanthus amarus and Terminalia catappa showed the most promising antibacterial properties, inhibiting all of the strains tested with minimum inhibitory concentrations ranging from 0.25 to 16 mg/ml.
Journal ArticleDOI

Beneficial effects of human milk oligosaccharides on gut microbiota

TL;DR: How HMOs can modulate gut microbiota is described, and information up to date about the relationship between the intestinal microbiota and Hmos, and other possible indirect effects of H MOs on intestinal environment is summarised.
Journal ArticleDOI

Auto-aggregation and co-aggregation ability in bifidobacteria and clostridia.

TL;DR: A total of 142 human and 88 calf bifidobacteria were isolated and identified; ≈12 % of all isolated strains exhibited autoaggregation phenotype (Agg+) as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antimicrobial susceptibility of bifidobacteria isolated from gastrointestinal tract of calves

TL;DR: The results suggest that strains resistant to antibiotics tested seem to be suitable for administration to young ruminants during antibiotic treatment.
