Journal ArticleDOI

A new comparator for measurement of diameter and form of cylinders, spheres and cubes under clean-room conditions

TL;DR: In this paper, a comparator was developed for the measurement of both diameter and form of cylinders, spheres and cubes in a single specimen setting using a contact probe technique, and the measurement volume is mm and the uncertainty is 0.01 per 100 mm length for calibrations of outer diameters, form and parallelism.
Journal ArticleDOI

An intercomparison on roundness and form measurement

TL;DR: In this article, the authors conducted a comparison of 12 manufactures of form measurement equipment, industrial users and national metrology institutes to determine the present-day agreement in form measurement at an accuracy level of approximately 0.1 μm and to formulate ways to improve agreement.
