Global Estimates of River Flow Wave Travel Times and Implications for Low‐Latency Satellite Data

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a global approximation of flow wave travel time to assess the utility of existing and future low-latency/near-real-time satellite products, with an emphasis on the forthcoming SWOT satellite mission.
Journal ArticleDOI

On Latin Hypercube sampling for efficient uncertainty estimation of satellite rainfall observations in flood prediction

TL;DR: Results from this study indicate that a LHS constrained sampling scheme has the potential to achieve computational efficiency for hydrologic assessment of satellite rainfall retrievals involving: (1) slow running models; (2) large study regions; and (3) long study periods; provided the assessment is confined to analysis of the large error bounds of the runoff distribution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Satellite Gravimetric Estimation of Groundwater Storage Variations Over Indus Basin in Pakistan

TL;DR: This study indicates that the GRACE-based estimation of GWS changes is skillful enough to provide monthly updates on the trend of the GWS change for resource managers and policy makers of Indus basin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Understanding Reservoir Operating Rules in the Transboundary Nile River Basin Using Macroscale Hydrologic Modeling with Satellite Measurements

TL;DR: The challenges to manage and secure a sustainable water supply are expected to become more acute in Egypt as the lowermost riparian country of the Nile basin with the construction of new transb....
