Supramolecular Assemblies from Poly(phenylacetylene)s
Journal ArticleDOI
Determining the absolute stereochemistry of secondary/secondary diols by 1H NMR: basis and applications.
TL;DR: Experimental data and theoretical calculations indicate that in these bis-MPA esters, the experimental delta deltaRS values are the result of the contribution of the shielding/deshielding effects produced by the two MPA units that combine according to the actual stereochemistry of the diol.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chiral Amplification and Helical‐Sense Tuning by Mono‐ and Divalent Metals on Dynamic Helical Polymers
TL;DR: A new and highly dynamic poly(phenylacetylene) (PPA) derivative that bears chiral pendants is reported, which incorporates the two features of selective helix induction and chiralamplification to give a material that acts as a sensor for the valence of metal cations.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the Importance of Carbohydrate–Aromatic Interactions for the Molecular Recognition of Oligosaccharides by Proteins: NMR Studies of the Structure and Binding Affinity of AcAMP2‐like Peptides with Non‐Natural Naphthyl and Fluoroaromatic Residues
M. Isabel Chávez,M. Isabel Chávez,Cecilia Andreu,Paloma Vidal,Nuria Aboitiz,Félix Freire,Patrick Groves,Juan Luis Asensio,Gregorio Asensio,Michiro Muraki,Francisco Javier Cañada,Jesús Jiménez-Barbero +11 more
TL;DR: The specific interaction of a variety of modified hevein domains to chitooligosaccharides has been studied by NMR spectroscopy in order to assess the importance of aromatic-carbohydrate interactions for the molecular recognition of neutral sugars.
Journal ArticleDOI
Controlled modulation of the helical sense and the elongation of poly(phenylacetylene)s by polar and donor effects
TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that the elasticity and helical sense of a dynamic helical poly(phenylacetylene) (PPA), bearing (R)-α-methoxytrifluorophenyl acetic acid (MTPA) pendants [poly-(R)-1], can be selectively controlled by the donor and the polar character of the solvent.
