The CNAO dose delivery system for modulated scanning ion beam radiotherapy.
Simona Giordanengo,M. A. Garella,Flavio Marchetto,F. Bourhaleb,Mario Ciocca,Alfredo Mirandola,Vincenzo Monaco,Mohammad Amin Hosseini,Cristiana Peroni,Roberto Sacchi,Roberto Cirio,M. Donetti +11 more
TL;DR: The dose delivery system described in this paper is one among the few worldwide existing systems to operate ion beam for modulated scanning radiotherapy and it has proven to guide and control the therapeutic pencil beams reaching performances well above clinical requirements.
Journal ArticleDOI
A 64-channel wide dynamic range charge measurement ASIC for strip and pixel ionization detectors
Giacomo Mazza,Roberto Cirio,Marco Donetti,A. La Rosa,A. Luparia,Flavio Marchetto,Cristiana Peroni +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a 64-channel application specified integrated circuit (ASIC) for the readout of parallel plate strip and pixel ionization detectors is reported, which uses a charge balancing integration technique to obtain a dynamic range in excess of 10/sup 5/ with a nonlinearity of less than 1%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hadrontherapy: a Geant4-Based Tool for Proton/Ion-Therapy Studies
G. A. Pablo Cirrone,Giacomo Cuttone,S. Enrico Mazzaglia,Francesco Romano,Daniele Sardina,C. Agodi,Andrea Attili,A. Alessandra Blancato,Marzio De Napoli,Francesco Di Rosa,Pekka Kaitaniemi,Flavio Marchetto,Ivan Petrović,Aleksandra Ristić-Fira,Jungwook Shin,Nikolai Tarnavsky,S. Tropea,C. Zacharatou,Turin Section +18 more
TL;DR: Hadrontherapy as mentioned in this paper is a C++, free and open source application developed using the Geant4 Monte Carlo libraries, which allows the simulation of a typical proton/ion transport beam line and the calculation of dose and fluence distributions inside a test phantom.
Journal ArticleDOI
D-IMRT verification with a 2D pixel ionization chamber: dosimetric and clinical results in head and neck cancer.
Michele Stasi,Simona Giordanengo,Roberto Cirio,A. Boriano,A. Boriano,F. Bourhaleb,Iwan Cornelius,Marco Donetti,E. Garelli,I. Gomola,Flavio Marchetto,M. Porzio,M. Porzio,C. J. Sanz Freire,C. J. Sanz Freire,A. Sardo,A. Sardo,Cristiana Peroni,Cristiana Peroni +18 more
TL;DR: A PiXel-segmented ionization Chamber (PXC) has been used for the verification of 19 fields used for four different head and neck cancers and the number of pixels with gamma parameter
Journal ArticleDOI
Two-dimensional and quasi-three-dimensional dosimetry of hadron and photon beams with the Magic Cube and the Pixel Ionization Chamber.
Roberto Cirio,E. Garelli,Reinhard W. Schulte,S. Amerio,A. Boriano,F. Bourhaleb,George Coutrakon,Marco Donetti,S. Giordanengo,P Koss,Enrico Madon,Flavio Marchetto,U. Nastasi,Cristiana Peroni,D Santuari,A. Sardo,G Scielzo,Michele Stasi,E. Trevisiol +18 more
TL;DR: Two detectors for fast two-dimensional and quasi-three-dimensional verification of the dose delivered by radiotherapy beams have been developed at University and Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN) of Torino.
