Forest incomes and poverty alleviation under participatory forest management in the Bale Highlands, Southern Ethiopia.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the contribution of forest resources to the livelihoods of rural households under a participatory management arrangement in southern Ethiopia and found that forest products are the most important sources of income contributing to 34% and 53% of household per capita income and per capita cash income, respectively.

Attitudes of local people towards collective action for forest management: the case of participatory forest management in Dodola area in the Bale Mountains, Southern Ethiopia

TL;DR: In this paper, the attitude and intention of households towards participating in collective forest management (tree planting) activity was investigated. And the results indicated that the success of planting activities in terms of survival rate of seedlings has a strong effect in motivating households to participate in planting.
