Journal ArticleDOI

Mineralization of paracetamol in aqueous medium by anodic oxidation with a boron-doped diamond electrode.

TL;DR: Under these conditions, the degradation rate is enhanced in alkaline medium and polymerization of intermediates is favored in concentrated solutions, while reversed-phase chromatography revealed a similar complex paracetamol decay in acid and alkaline media.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mineralization of salicylic acid in acidic aqueous medium by electrochemical advanced oxidation processes using platinum and boron-doped diamond as anode and cathodically generated hydrogen peroxide.

TL;DR: The poor decontamination achieved in anodic oxidation and electro-Fenton with Pt is explained by the slow removal of most pollutants by ()OH formed from water oxidation at the Pt anode in comparison to their quick destruction with ()OH produced at BDD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electro-Fenton, UVA photoelectro-Fenton and solar photoelectro-Fenton degradation of the drug ibuprofen in acid aqueous medium using platinum and boron-doped diamond anodes

TL;DR: In this paper, the degradation of a 41 mg dm -3 ibuprofen (2-(4-isobylphenyl)propionic acid) solution of pH 3.0 has been comparatively studied by electrochemical advanced oxidation processes (EAOPs) like electro-Fenton, UVA photo-electro-fenton and solar photoelectrofenton at constant current density, and experiments were performed in a one-compartment cell with a Pt or boron-doped diamond (BDD) anode and an O 2 -diffusion cath
Journal ArticleDOI

Mineralization of the drug β-blocker atenolol by electro-Fenton and photoelectro-Fenton using an air-diffusion cathode for H2O2 electrogeneration combined with a carbon-felt cathode for Fe2+ regeneration

TL;DR: Two-electrode cells with a Pt or boron-doped diamond anode and an air-diffusion cathode for H2O2 electrogeneration were used to degrade the pharmaceutical β-blocker atenolol by electro-Fenton and photoelectro-fenton methods as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Degradation of the fluoroquinolone enrofloxacin by electrochemical advanced oxidation processes based on hydrogen peroxide electrogeneration

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used an undivided stirred tank reactor of 100 ml and a batch recirculation flow plant of 2.5 l with a solar photoreactor, both equipped with a Pt or boron-doped diamond (BDD) anode and a carbon-polytetrafluoroethylene gas diffusion cathode.
