Journal ArticleDOI

Efficacy and vitreous levels of topical NSAIDs

TL;DR: A growing body of evidence suggests that NSAIDs may be beneficial in the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and ocular tumors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Peeling of the internal limiting membrane with foveal sparing for treatment of degenerative lamellar macular hole.

TL;DR: Fovea-sparing internal limiting membrane peeling is a feasible treatment for degenerative lamellar macular hole with lamellary hole-associated epiretinal proliferation, yielding better improvements in best-corrected visual acuity and foveal retinal sensitivity than observation alone.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tamponade or filling effect: changes of forces in myopic eyes.

TL;DR: An updated review of the clinical use of vitreous substitutes in the myopic eye is provided, paying particular attention to analyzing the ideal function of endotamponade agents and comparing the effects of these agents on the physical and biological properties of the eye.
Journal ArticleDOI

ILM peeling in nontractional diabetic macular edema: review and metanalysis.

TL;DR: The visual acuity outcomes in patients affected by nontractional diabetic macular edema using pars plana vitrectomy with ILM peeling versus no ILMpeeling were not significantly different and a larger prospective and randomized study would be necessary.
Journal ArticleDOI

Familial exudative vitreoretinopathy caused by a homozygous mutation in TSPAN12 in a cystic fibrosis infant.

TL;DR: A case of a female infant affected by cystic fibrosis and by a severe form of exudative vitreoretinopathy is described, and the homozygous missense mutation c.668 T > C in TSPAN12 is detected, suggesting a classic recessive mendelian pattern of inheritance.
