Differential diagnosis between hepatocellular carcinoma and cirrhosis through a discriminant function based on results for serum analytes.

TL;DR: In the two successive cohorts with a prevalence of cirrhosis vs HC of approximately 2:1, the discriminant function correctly classified 93% of cases, the highest percentage of correct classification of the two diseases obtained so far by laboratory approaches.
Journal ArticleDOI

Changes in the MicroRNA Profile Observed in the Subcutaneous Adipose Tissue of Obese Patients after Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding

TL;DR: It is shown that the miRNA profile changes after LAGB, which suggests that this epigenetic mechanism, by regulating the expression of genes involved in inflammation and lipid metabolism, could concur to improve SAT functionality in postoperative obese patients.
