Social rank and feeding behaviour of group-housed sows fed competitively or ad libitum

TL;DR: By changing their feeding strategy, low-ranking sows in an ad libitum feeding system could achieve comparable intake with higher-ranking animals.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of dietary fibre and feeding system on activity and oral behaviour of group housed gilts

TL;DR: Direct observations at feeding time showed that RF gilts took longer to consume their ration than C gilts and that fibre fed gilts were less active in the post-feeding period, which suggests that the feeding motivation of gilts which received a fibrous diet was less than that of the control gilts.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Design Model for Lifelong Learning Networks

TL;DR: This work presents a conceptual model for the support of lifelong learning which is based on notions from self-organization theory, learning communities, agent technologies and learning technology specifications such as IMS Learning Design and reflects on the findings and future directions.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Learner Support Model Based on Peer Tutor Selection

TL;DR: A learner support model based on peer tutor selection based onpeer tutor selection for assisted learning is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Encouraging contributions in learning networks using incentive mechanisms

TL;DR: Repeated measurements according to a simple interrupted time series with removal design show that the level of participation was indeed increased by the introduction of the reward system, and it can therefore be considered worthwhile to use incentive mechanisms in LNs.
