Magmatismo há ca. 660 - 640 Ma no Domínio Socorro: registros de convergência pré-colisional na aglutinação do Gondwana Ocidental

TL;DR: Uranium-lead zircon ages between 660 and 640 Ma, obtained from a series of calc-alkaline orthogneisses and plutons in southeast Brazil's Central Mantiqueira Province, suggest that a significant period of magmatism occurred in this region prior to the collisional assembly of West Gondwana (presently constrained in the region between ca. 625 and 580 Ma) as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geology, petrography and geochemistry of the acid volcanism of the Paraná Magmatic Province in the Piraju-Ourinhos region, SE Brazil

TL;DR: A succession of trachydacitic lava flows over 150 m thick constitutes the lowermost portion of the Serra Geral Fm as discussed by the authors along the Paranapanema River valley in the Piraju-Ourinhos region, State of Brazil.
Journal ArticleDOI

Aspects of a conceptual groundwater flow model of the Serra Geral basalt aquifer (Sao Paulo, Brazil) from physical and structural geology data

TL;DR: A preliminary conceptual model of groundwater flow was developed for the Serra Geral fractured basalt aquifer in order to assess the recharge to the underlying sandstone Guarani Aquifer System, one of the main aquifer systems in Brazil, which supplies water to millions of people as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sistema eólico úmido nas sucessões sedimentares interderrames da Formação Mosquito, Jurássico da Província Parnaíba, Brasil

TL;DR: In this article, a maisespessa sucessão sedimentar, o Membro Macapa, is described as follows: "a sucesso de derrames basalticos with intercalacoes decamadas sedimentares".
Journal ArticleDOI

Archean and paleoproterozoic crust generation events, Amparo complex and Serra Negra orthogneiss in southern Brasília Orogen, SE Brazil

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used U Pb SHRIMP and Nd and Sr isotopic and geochemical investigations aiming to increase the knowledge of these juvenile crustal domains.
