Journal ArticleDOI
AtFXG1 , an Arabidopsis Gene Encoding α-l-Fucosidase Active against Fucosylated Xyloglucan Oligosaccharides
TL;DR: The alpha-L-fucosidase encoded by AtFXG1 was active against the oligosaccharides from xyloglucan XXFG as well as against 2'- fucosyl-lactitol but not against p-nitrophenyl-alpha-L
Journal ArticleDOI
How ethylene works in the reproductive organs of higher plants: A signaling update from the third millennium
TL;DR: It is indicated that ET signaling is at present sparking interest within phytohormonal molecular physiology and biology, and it is explained why several socio-economic aspects (flowering and fruit ripening) are undoubtedly involved in ET physiology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic transformation of Eucalyptus globulus using the vascular-specific EgCCR as an alternative to the constitutive CaMV35S promoter
Francisco de la Torre,Francisco de la Torre,Ruth Rodríguez,Gago Jorge,Beatriz Villar,Beatriz Villar,Rosa Álvarez-Otero,Jacqueline Grima-Pettenati,Pedro P. Gallego +8 more
TL;DR: The EgCCR transformed plantlets exhibited high GUS expression levels associated with the vascular tissues opening the possibility of targeting vascular-associated traits such as lignin content or vascular pathogen resistance in adult elite plants of eucalyptus while avoiding the undesirable pleiotropic effects caused by strong constitutive promoters.
Ripe Fruits of Sisymbrium officinale L. Contain Heterogeneous Endospermic Seeds with Different Germination Rates
TL;DR: The coexistence in ripe fruits of S. officinale of two seed lots with remarkable physiological and physical heterogeneity that could be used as a tool to increase the authors' knowledge about the germination process is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic transformation of grapevine cells using the minimal cassette technology: The need of 3′-end protection
TL;DR: The results suggest the importance of 3'-end cassette protection for successful protein expression using the minimal cassette technology.
