Journal ArticleDOI
Structural and electrochemical characterisation of nitrogen enriched carbons produced by the co-pyrolysis of coal-tar pitch with polyacrylonitrile
Jacek Machnikowski,B. Grzyb,Jean-Victor Weber,Elzbieta Frackowiak,Jean-Noël Rouzaud,François Béguin +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the electrochemical lithium insertion has been investigated in soft and hard carbons by a galvanostatic technique, using carbon/lithium two-electrode cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermodynamic properties of benzene adsorbed in activated carbons and multi-walled carbon nanotubes
Piotr A. Gauden,Artur P. Terzyk,Gerhard Rychlicki,Piotr Kowalczyk,Katarzyna Lota,Encarnacion Raymundo-Piñero,Elzbieta Frackowiak,François Béguin +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the efficiency of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) and traditional activated carbons for benzene adsorption is studied. And the analysis of the experimental data leads to the conclusion that both thermodynamic functions are related to the kind of porosity present in the studied materials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrochemical storage of hydrogen in activated carbons
TL;DR: In this article, a galvanostatic electrodecomposition of water either in 6 M KOH or in 1 M H2SO4 electrolytic solution was performed for reversible storage of hydrogen in microporous active carbon.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of high quality multi-walled carbon nanotubes from the decomposition of acetylene on iron-group metal catalysts supported on MgO
Journal ArticleDOI
Solvent-free ionic liquids as in situ probes for assessing the effect of ion size on the performance of electrical double layer capacitors
TL;DR: In this article, the activated carbon adsorbent was supplied by Norit and the help of Dr. Parra with Modelling======Software and Dr. Khomenko in conductivity measurements is acknowledged.
