Journal ArticleDOI
Vestibular signals of self-motion modulate global motion perception.
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the perception of visual motion direction can be systematically affected by concurrent but uninformative and task‐irrelevant vestibular input caused by self‐motion.
Journal ArticleDOI
The duration aftereffect does not reflect adaptation to perceived duration
Jim Maarseveen,Chris L. E. Paffen,Frans A. J. Verstraten,Frans A. J. Verstraten,Hinze Hogendoorn,Hinze Hogendoorn +5 more
TL;DR: clear evidence for adaptation to the onset-offset duration of illusion-inducing stimuli is reported, which supports the notion that duration-tuned mechanisms respond to the time between the onset and offset of an event, without necessarily reflecting the duration perceived, and eventually reported by the participant.
Journal ArticleDOI
Distinguishing models of multifocal attention: It's a matter of time
Journal ArticleDOI
The use of optimal object information in fronto-parallel orientation discrimination.
TL;DR: It is found that observers always use object axes allowing for the highest object orientation discrimination, namely the axes lying closest to the horizontal/vertical.
Journal ArticleDOI
Disengaging attention sets the temporal limit of attentive tracking
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that tracking performance at high(er) rates decreases to chance with increasing duty cycle, while at low rates duty cycle hardly has an effect on performance.
