Soft Interactions in Herwig

TL;DR: In this paper, the soft component of the Multiple Partonic interaction model is replaced by a refined model for soft gluon production in the Monte Carlo event generator Herwig and a new model for the simulation of diffractive final states, based on the cluster hadronization model in Herwig, is introduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Soft and diffractive scattering with the cluster model in Herwig

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a new model for soft interactions in the event-generator Herwig, which consists of two components: one to model diffractive final states on the basis of the cluster hadronization model and a second component that addresses soft multiple interactions as multiple particle production in multi-peripheral kinematics.

Herwig 7.1 Release Note

TL;DR: A new version of the Monte Carlo event generator Herwig (version 7.1) is available as discussed by the authors, which introduces a number of improvements, notably: multi-jet merging with the dipole shower at LO and NLO QCD; a new model for soft interactions and diffraction; improvements to mass effects and top decays in the diple shower, as well as a new tune of the hadronisation parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anomalous soft photon production from the induced currents in Dirac sea

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the propagating quark throughout the process of hadronization induces in the vacuum charged transition currents that lead to a strong resonant enhancement of the soft photon yield; the Low theorem however remains accurate in the limit of very soft momenta.
