Percutaneous Transcatheter Implantation of an Aortic Valve Prosthesis for Calcific Aortic Stenosis First Human Case Description
Alain Cribier,Hélène Eltchaninoff,Assaf Bash,Nicolas Borenstein,Christophe Tron,Fabrice Bauer,Geneviève Derumeaux,Frédéric Anselme,François Laborde,Martin B. Leon +9 more
TL;DR: A percutaneous implantable prosthetic heart valve (PHV) composed of 3 bovine pericardial leaflets mounted within a balloon-expandable stent was developed in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sudden Cardiac Arrest Associated with Early Repolarization
Michel Haïssaguerre,Nicolas Derval,Frederic Sacher,Laurence Jesel,Isabel Deisenhofer,Luc De Roy,Jean-Luc Pasquié,Akihiko Nogami,Dominique Babuty,Sinikka Yli-Mäyry,Christian de Chillou,Patrice Scanu,Philippe Mabo,Seiichiro Matsuo,Vincent Probst,Solena Le Scouarnec,Pascal Defaye,Juerg Schlaepfer,Thomas Rostock,Dominique Lacroix,Dominique Lamaison,Thomas Lavergne,Yoshifusa Aizawa,Anders Englund,Frédéric Anselme,Mark D O'Neill,Mélèze Hocini,Kang-Teng Lim,Sébastien Knecht,George D. Veenhuyzen,Pierre Bordachar,Michel Chauvin,Pierre Jaïs,Gaelle Coureau,Geneviève Chêne,George Klein,Jacques Clémenty +36 more
TL;DR: Among patients with a history of idiopathic ventricular fibrillation, there is an increased prevalence of early repolarization and during a mean (+/-SD) follow-up of 61+/-50 months, defibrillator monitoring showed a higher incidence of recurrent ventricularfibrillation in case subjects with a repolarized abnormality than in those without such an abnormality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Primary prevention of sudden death in patients with lamin A/C gene mutations
TL;DR: To the Editor: Lamin A/C gene mutations are associated with various disorders, including cardiac abnormalities characterized by atrial fibrillation, conduction-system disturbances, sudden death,...
Journal ArticleDOI
Coronary Sinus Pacing Prevents Induction of Atrial Fibrillation
Panos Papageorgiou,Frédéric Anselme,Charles J. H. J. Kirchhof,Kevin D. Monahan,Carl Rasmussen,Laurence M. Epstein,Mark E. Josephson +6 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that CSd pacing suppresses the propensity of HRA APDs to induce AF by limiting their prematurity at the posterior triangle of Koch and not allowing local conduction delay and local reentry to occur.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Atrial Fibrillation Ablation Pilot Study: an European Survey on Methodology and results of catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation conducted by the European Heart Rhythm Association
Elena Arbelo,Josep Brugada,Gerhard Hindricks,Aldo P. Maggioni,Luigi Tavazzi,Panos E. Vardas,Cécile Laroche,Frédéric Anselme,Giuseppe Inama,Pierre Jaïs,Zbigniew Kalarus,Josef Kautzner,Thorsten Lewalter,Georges H. Mairesse,Julián Pérez-Villacastín,Sam Riahi,Milos Taborsky,George N. Theodorakis,Serge A. Trines +18 more
TL;DR: The AFib Ablation Pilot Study provided crucial information on the epidemiology, management, and outcomes of catheter ablation of AFib in a real-world setting and the 12-month success rate appears to be somewhat lower to the one reported clinical trials.
