Hybrid method for aerodynamic shape optimization in automotive industry

TL;DR: An aerodynamic shape optimization tool for complex industrial flows is developed, based on an hybrid process that couples a stochastic genetic algorithm and a deterministic BFGS hillclimbing method to optimize the rear of a simplified car shape.
Book ChapterDOI

Comparison of global optimization methods for drag reduction in the automotive industry

TL;DR: The efficiency of these global optimization methods, called HM and AGA respectively, is shown and compared, first on analytical test functions, then on a drag reduction problem where the computational time of a GA is reduced by a factor up to 7.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimisation de forme en aérodynamique automobile

TL;DR: In this article, a methode automatique, robuste and multicritere, is presented for optimisation of forme en aerodynamique automobile, which is appliqué a l'optimisation du coefficient de trainee (C x ) d'une forme simplifiee de vehicule and parametree par les angles de lunette, de diffuseur and de retreint.

Optimisation de forme en aérodynamique automobile

TL;DR: In this article, a hybrid method for aerodynamic shape optimization in automative industry shape optimization is presented, where various global optimization methods are constructed in order to tackle realistic drag reduction problems in the automotive industry.
