Long-Term Safety and Efficacy of Drug-Eluting versus Bare-Metal Stents in Sweden
Stefan James,Ulf Stenestrand,Johan Lindbäck,Jörg Carlsson,Fredrik Scherstén,Tage Nilsson,Lars Wallentin,Bo Lagerqvist +7 more
TL;DR: As compared with bare-metal stents, drug-eluting stents are associated with a similar long-term incidence of death or myocardial infarction and provide a clinically important decrease in the rate of restenosis among high-risk patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bivalirudin versus Heparin Monotherapy in Myocardial Infarction
David Erlinge,Elmir Omerovic,Ole Fröbert,Rikard Linder,Mikael Danielewicz,Mehmet Hamid,Eva Swahn,Loghman Henareh,Henrik Wagner,Peter Hårdhammar,Iwar Sjögren,Jason Stewart,Per Grimfjärd,Jens Jensen,Mikael Aasa,Lotta Robertsson,Pontus Lindroos,Jan Haupt,Helena Wikström,Anders Ulvenstam,Pallonji Bhiladvala,Bo Lindvall,Anders Lundin,Tim Tödt,Dan Ioanes,Truls Råmunddal,Thomas Kellerth,Leszek Zagozdzon,Matthias Götberg,Jonas Andersson,Oskar Angerås,Ollie Östlund,Bo Lagerqvist,Claes Held,Lars Wallentin,Fredrik Scherstén,Peter Eriksson,Sasha Koul,Stefan James +38 more
TL;DR: The rate of the composite of death from any cause, myocardial infarction, or major bleeding was not lower among those who received bivalirudin than among thosewho received heparin monotherapy, and the results were consistent between patients with STEMI and those with NSTEMI and across other major subgroups.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stent Thrombosis in Sweden A Report From the Swedish Coronary Angiography and Angioplasty Registry
Bo Lagerqvist,Jörg Carlsson,Ole Fröbert,Johan Lindbäck,Fredrik Scherstén,Ulf Stenestrand,Stefan James +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the role of risk factors and stent type for stent thrombosis (ST) using a large real world registry was evaluated, and the overall risk of ST was lower in drug-eluting stents compared with bare metal stents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Triple antithrombotic therapy following an acute coronary syndrome: prevalence, outcomes and prognostic utility of the HAS-BLED score.
J. Gustav Smith,Mattias Wieloch,Sasha Koul,Oscar Ö. Braun,Jonathan Lumsden,Emil Rydell,Jenny Öhman,Fredrik Scherstén,Peter Svensson,Jesper van der Pals +9 more
TL;DR: TT was relatively common following acute coronary syndrome and was associated with a threefold increase in major bleeding compared to DAPT at one year and the HAS-BLED risk score predicted bleeding events with moderate accuracy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of upstream clopidogrel treatment in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention.
Sasha Koul,J. Gustav Smith,J. Gustav Smith,Fredrik Scherstén,Stefan James,Bo Lagerqvist,David Erlinge +6 more
TL;DR: This large observational study suggests that upstream clopidogrel treatment prior to arrival at the catheterization lab is associated with a reduction in the combined risk of death or MI as well as death alone in patients with STEMI treated with primary PCI.
