Impact investing: review and research agenda

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is not only increasingly valued by companies but also plays an extremely important role in the development of their strategies. This study systematically reviews literature that seeks to ascertain just which CSR strategies feature in the literature and their means of implementation by companies. We made recourse to the ISI Web of Science database for the search and collected 119 articles spanning a 25‐year period. The results enable the identification and categorization of CSR strategies into four key categories: (a) dimensions, (b) benefits, (c) value creation and stakeholders, and (d) motivations. We also identify that major companies around the world are ensured the implementation of their CSR strategies throughout their organizational structures with specialized resources. This systematic review provides a path for future research.

Des feux de signalisation (FS) qui sont affiches sur les produits et qui informent les consommateurs sur la securite des produits ont recu une attention croissante dans differents domaines. Ce document presente les resultats d'une experience menee en Allemagne, afin d'evaluer l'impact de l'etiquetage des FS sur les achats d’alimentation et de produits financiers. Les resultats montrent que les FS affectent les achats des consommateurs pour les deux types de produits. Pour l’alimentation, alors que l'attribut « faible en gras » n’a pas d’impact significatif sur les choix d’aliments sans FS, cet attribut a un impact positif sur le choix d’aliments une fois qu'il est signale par un FS. L'impact positif de l’etiquette BIO d'un produit alimentaire sans FS diminue lorsque le meme produit est aussi marque avec un FS. Dans le cas des produits financiers, un FS renforce considerablement l'impact de toutes les caracteristiques sur la probabilite de choix des produits.

Purpose – This study aims to explore the views of pension beneficiaries and fund managers regarding greater involvement and investment autonomy and the attitudes toward diverse responsible investment criteria. The conventional form of investing is usually vulnerable to high financial market volatility events and financial crises, and most importantly, it has proven insufficient in addressing important social issues. A newly introduced investment culture known as impact investing strives for social gains in the long term rather than the maximization of financial returns by aiming to tackle social problems.
