The dynamics and export of dissolved organic carbon from subtropicalsmall mountainous rivers during typhoon and non-typhoon periods

TL;DR: In this article, a long-term project (2002 to 2014), stream DOC was monitored in three neighboring subtropical small mountainous rivers of Taiwan, and the objective was to relate DOC concentrations to water discharge and to quantify DOC flux during typhoon and non-typhoon periods.

Community Assembly Processes as a Mechanistic Explanation of the Predator-Prey Diversity Relationship in Marine Microbes

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated how α-diversity of predator and prey influences each other's community assembly processes, which subsequently determine their α diversity, and they concluded that top-down control is one of the explanations to the positive α- diversity association among trophic levels in microbes of the East China Sea.
