textManaging employees and external partners effectively has been a primary concern for organizations and their managers. Many studies have investigated the effectiveness of organizational controls in a wide variety of contexts. Using organizational controls literature that discriminates among outcome, behavior, and clan control, this study synthesizes the research on the effectiveness of these controls. In particular, the study examines 23,839 organizational controls–performance relationships from 120 independent samples, and tests several new hypotheses using advanced meta-analytic methods. The results indicate that outcome, behavior, and clan controls generally enhance performance, with each control having a distinct performance effect. Our analysis also demonstrates that controls function as complements to one another. This finding indicates that one form of control increases the effectiveness of other forms of control. We also examine the organizational controls–performance relationships across various contexts, and our results show that they vary according to the type of task. The paper concludes with a discussion on the theoretical and managerial implications of these findings.

Organizational Controls and Performance Outcomes : A Meta‐Analytic Assessment and Extension

В период ускоренного инновационного развития промышленности необходимо разработать организационную структуру предприятия, способную к адаптации в постоянно меняющихся рыночных условиях. Особая роль в этом процессе отводится выбору зон инновационной привлекательности (ЗИП), сегменту внешнего окружения, начиная с регионального рынка, на который фирма уже имеет или только собирается иметь выход. ЗИП определяются в результате стратегической сегментации всей внешней сферы хозяйственной деятельности предприятия. Для оценки будущей тенденции рентабельности той или иной зоны в статье предлагается методика анализа конкурентного давления в сфере исследуемой ЗИП. В целях обеспечения необходимой гибкости стратегического набора ЗИП маркетологам предлагается методика моделирования возможных событий и динамики состояния нестабильной окружающей среды, которая позволяет оценить их вероятное влияние на перспективность и рентабельность выбранных, одобренных и сбалансированных ЗИП. Работа выполняется в рамках маркетинговых программ по созданию конкурентного продукта (технологии) и освоению ЗИП рынка. Результатом проделанной работы является получение оптимального стратегического набора ЗИП, который составляет основу формирования стратегического пространства всех направлений сбытовой деятельности фирмы в краткосрочном периоде и отдаленном будущем. Перспективность ЗИП определяется совокупностью факторов успеха темпом роста спроса, рентабельностью и стабильностью (нестабильностью) внешней среды. Из всех перспективных ЗИП формируются допустимые варианты наборов. Каждый такой вариант представляет собой стратегический для предприятия набор ЗИП, если относительно этого варианта выполняются определенные требования по темпам роста, рентабельности, гибкости и синергетическому эффекту, запланированным на ближайшее и отдаленное будущее. Для того чтобы в состав такого варианта попали только перспективные зоны, предлагается использовать матрицы балансов жизненного цикла (ЖЦ) ЗИП, позволяющие определять возможность достижения нужного равновесия между краткосрочными и долгосрочными рентабельностями деятельности фирмы в будущем. Defining the zones of innovation attractiveness for a science-intensive industrial enterprise

The human resource department is vital to the long-term success of an organization. It is responsible for very important issues such as employing suitable personnel for their positions within the company, providing these personnel with the necessary training and performance management. In cases where the human resource department does not work effectively, many different departments within the company will be affected by this negativity. This mentioned issue will cause the financial performance of the company to be adversely affected. To increase their performance, the human resource management department should also follow up-to-date practices. Digitization is also a prominent issue in this process. Thanks to the developing technology, the realization of all transactions in the computer environment has also affected human resource activities. In other words, human resource departments can also perform many activities in digital environment. Critical issues such as interviews with the personnel, training, and evaluation of the performance of the personnel can be carried out in the digital environment. This will contribute to the increase in the performance of human resource departments. On the other hand, to manage this process effectively, up-to-date technology investment should be made for the human resource departments, and qualified personnel should be employed in this department. Otherwise, companies that adhere to traditional human resource practices will not be able to compete with others in the long run.

Creating an organizational design of a science-intensive enterprise oriented towards the digital economy

AbstractThe article is centered on the tendency to occupy leading positions in the developing world through the digitalization of business. The interest of the society is warmed by significant expectations, which are based on practical results. Primary steps in the implementation of digitalized business demonstrate that digitalization is actually capable of offering significant competitive advantages to enterprising activities. Digitalization is accompanied by “the race of scientific and technical repowering”. Its leaders explicitly show that the acquisition of particular advantages with the use of recent technologies is impossible under the conditions of the absence of deepest changes in business, including its coordination and human resource. As time goes by, numerous technological processes will be quickly developing and improving. Under such conditions, many directors of enterprises try to use the most up-to-date technological processes as well as to evaluate business risks, associated with transformation. It is shown in the article that all structural transformations can be carried out with regard to the fact that digitalization affects human, organizational, and computer resources.
