First Report of Anthracnose on Pepper Fruit Caused by Colletotrichum scovillei in Brazil

TL;DR: This is the first report of anthracnose on pepper fruit caused by C. scovillei in Brazil and future studies using morphological and molecular tools are essential for the correct identification of Colletotrichum spp.
Journal ArticleDOI

First Report of Enterobacter cowanii Causing Bacterial Spot on Mabea fistulifera, a Native Forest Species in Brazil.

TL;DR: This is the first report of a member of the Enterobacteriaceae family causing disease in M. fistulifera, an indigenous forest species commonly found in Brazil, and the phenotypic, biochemical, and molecular tests identified the pathogen as E. cowanii.
Journal ArticleDOI

Colletotrichum theobromicola causes defoliation, stem girdling and death of mini-cuttings of eucalyptus in Brazil

TL;DR: A phylogenetic analysis of the β-tubulin (TUB2) and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) regions, combined with morphological characterization, allowed us to conclude that the fungus belongs to C. theobromicola.
Journal ArticleDOI

Infection Process of Botrytis cinerea on Eucalypt Leaves

TL;DR: Tests were conducted to evaluate the influence of leaf side (adaxial or abaxial), leaf age and luminosity on conidial germination, appressorium formation and grey mould (GM) severity, and there was no statistical difference between the surfaces of young and old leaves for conidia germination.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transport, pathogenicity and transmissibility of fungi associated with physic nut seeds

TL;DR: The transport rate of a fungus population associated with Jatropha curcas seeds and the pathogenicity of these microrganisms to seedlings and fruit and also the fruit-seed and seed-seedling transmissibility were determined.
