Journal ArticleDOI

Study of crystallization and isothermal thickening in polyethylene using SAXD, low frequency Raman spectroscopy and electron microscopy

TL;DR: In this article, a combined application of three different techniques for the study of polyethy-lenes crystallized from the melt under different circumstances, small-angle X-ray diffraction (SAXD), low frequency Raman spectroscopy to examine the longitudinal acoustic (LA) mode, and electron microscopy was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

The influence of nucleation density and cooling rate on crystallization of polyethylene from the melt

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the effective crystallization temperature is a function of the nucleation density, and a quantitative fit was found with theoretical predictions based on crystallization kinetics.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of nucleation density on the kinetics of crystallization and on the resulting structure and thermal properties of polymers crystallized during cooling

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the number of predetermined nuclei initiating crystallization influences not only the scale of the spherulitic texture in the fully crystallized sample, but also the thickness of the lamellae and through it the melting behavior of the final product.
