Journal ArticleDOI

Two conserved sequence blocks within eukaryotic tRNA genes are major promoter elements

TL;DR: The two conserved sequence blocks were found to be exchangeable between tRNA genes as chimaeric tRNAMet–tRNALeu genes proved transcriptionally active and two prokaryotic t RNA genes exhibiting strong homologies with the two blocks yielded specifie transcripts when tested in an eukaryotic transcriptional system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biochemical complementation with RNA in the Xenopus oocyte: a small RNA is required for the generation of 3' histone mRNA termini.

TL;DR: RNA extracted from the 12S "termination" factor includes an RNA species comigrating with the 60 nucleotide RNA from poly (A)- RNA, which is suggested to be present in relatively low abundance in embryos of both Psammechinus and Paracentrotus.
