Moringa oleifera has been used in traditional medicine to treat diabetes. However, few studies have been conducted to relate its antidiabetic properties to proteins. In this study, a leaf protein isolate was obtained from M. oleifera leaves, named Mo-LPI, and the hypoglycemic and antioxidant effects on alloxan-induced diabetic mice were assessed. Mo-LPI was obtained by aqueous extraction, ammonium sulphate precipitation and dialysis. The electrophoresis profile and proteolytic hydrolysis confirmed its protein nature. Mo-LPI showed hemagglutinating activity, cross-reaction with anti-insulin antibodies and precipitation after zinc addition. Single-dose intraperitoneal (i.p.) administration of Mo-LPI (500 mg/kg·bw) reduced the blood glucose level (reductions of 34.3%, 60.9% and 66.4% after 1, 3 and 5 h, respectively). The effect of Mo-LPI was also evidenced in the repeated dose test with a 56.2% reduction in the blood glucose level on the 7th day after i.p. administration. Mo-LPI did not stimulate insulin secretion in diabetic mice. Mo-LPI was also effective in reducing the oxidative stress in diabetic mice by a decrease in malondialdehyde level and increase in catalase activity. Mo-LPI (2500 mg/kg·bw) did not cause acute toxicity to mice. Mo-LPI is a promising alternative or complementary agent to treat diabetes.

A Protein Isolate from Moringa oleifera Leaves Has Hypoglycemic and Antioxidant Effects in Alloxan-Induced Diabetic Mice

Diabetes mellitus is a major health problem due to its increasing prevalence and life-threatening complications. Antidiabetic sulfonylureas represent the first-line drugs in type 2 diabetes even though the most common associated risk is pharmacologically-induced hypoglycemia. In the development of this side effect are involved several factors including the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profile of the drug, patient age and behavior, hepatic or renal dysfunctions, or other drugs associated with a high risk of interactions. If all these are controlled, the risk-benefit balance can be equal to other oral antidiabetic drugs.

Hypoglycemia induced by antidiabetic sulfonylureas.

Since December 2019, the whole world has been facing the big challenge of Covid‐19 or 2019‐nCoV. Some nations have controlled or are controlling the spread of this virus strongly, but some countries are in big trouble because of their poor control strategies. Nowadays, mathematical models are very effective tools to simulate outbreaks of this virus. In this research, we analyze a fractional‐order model of Covid‐19 in terms of the Caputo fractional derivative. First, we generalize an integer‐order model to a fractional sense, and then, we check the stability of equilibrium points. To check the dynamics of Covid‐19, we plot several graphs on the time scale of daily and monthly cases. The main goal of this content is to show the effectiveness of fractional‐order models as compared to integer‐order dynamics.

Adults with obesity may develop asthma that is ineffectively controlled by inhaled corticosteroids and long-acting beta-adrenoceptor agonists. Mechanistic and translational studies suggest that metabolic dysregulation that occurs with obesity, particularly hyperglycemia and insulin resistance, contributes to altered immune cell function and low-grade systemic inflammation. Importantly, in these cases, the same proinflammatory cytokines believed to contribute to insulin resistance may also be responsible for airway remodeling and hyperresponsiveness. In the past decade, new research has emerged assessing whether hypoglycemic therapies impact comorbid asthma as reflected by the incidence of asthma, asthma-related emergency department visits, asthma-related hospitalizations, and asthma-related exacerbations. The purpose of this review article is to discuss the mechanism of action, preclinical data, and existing clinical studies regarding the efficacy and safety of hypoglycemic therapies for adults with obesity and comorbid asthma.

Safety and efficacy of sulfonylurea drugs in type 2 diabetes mellitus

The pandemic caused by coronaviruses (SARS-COV-2) is a zoonotic disease targeting the respiratory tract of active humans. Few mild symptoms of fever and tiredness get cured without any medicinal aid, whereas some severe symptoms of dry cough with breathing illness led to perceived risk of secondary transmission. This paper studies the effectiveness of vaccination in Covid-19​ pandemic disease by modelling three compartments susceptible, vaccinated and infected (SVI) of Atangana Baleanu of Caputo (ABC) type derivatives in non-integer order. The disease dynamics is analysed and its stability is performed. Numerical approximation is derived using Adam’s Moulton method and simulated to forecast the results for controllability of pandemic spread.

A fractal fractional order vaccination model of COVID-19 pandemic using Adam’s moulton analysis

A mathematical model delineating the control strategies in transference of Covid-19 pandemic is examined through Atangana-Baleanu Caputo type fractional derivatives. The total count of people under observation is classified into Susceptible, Vaccinated, Infected and Protected groups (SVIP). The designed model studies the efficiency of vaccination and personal precautions incorporated qualitatively by every individual via fixed point theorem. Stability of the system has been investigated with spectral characterisation of Ulam Hyer's kind. Numerical interpolation has been derived by Adam's semi-analytical technique and we have approximated the solution. We have proved the theoretical analysis through graphical simulations that vaccination and self protective interventions are the significant role to decrease the contagious expansion of the virus among the people in process.

Covid-19 is a corona virus pandemic disease affected by a new corona virus. Maximum people infected by covid-19 will experience symptoms namely mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring any special treatment. However elderly people and those having underlying medical diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer and chronic respiratory disease are more prone to develop serious illness. Reliability analysis for medical test for covid-19 is performed using a Bayesian network. A Bayesian network (BN) is a probabilistic graphical model that represents knowledge about an uncertain domain where each node corresponds to a random variable and each edge represents the corresponding conditional probability. The BN is used to prioritize the factors that influence virus symptoms of covid-19. The BN model is constructed based on a list of general symptoms of covid-19. The marginal probabilities for all states are computed. The comparison of prior and conditional probabilities is determined.
