Journal ArticleDOI
cGMP-dependent protein kinase I in vascular smooth muscle cells improves ischemic stroke outcome in mice.
Maria Shvedova,Maxim M. Litvak,Jesse D. Roberts,Dai Fukumura,Tomoaki Suzuki,Ikbal Sencan,Ge Li,Paula Reventun,Emmanuel S. Buys,Hyung-Hwan Kim,Sava Sakadžić,Cenk Ayata,Paul L. Huang,Robert Feil,Dmitriy N. Atochin +14 more
TL;DR: A protective role of cGKI is identified in vascular smooth muscle cells during ischemic stroke injury for the first time and was found to be independent of gender and was mediated via improved reperfusion.
Journal ArticleDOI
201-LB: The Neuronal Sirt1 Regulate the Metabolic Imbalance in Ischemic Stroke
Ge Li,Hyung-Hwan Kim +1 more
TL;DR: Findings indicate that the important neuroprotective effect of neuronal cells is mediated by Sirt1 overexpression and suggest that upregulation of neuronal Sirt 1 may be an important therapeutic target for ischemic stroke via regulating metabolic imbalance.
