Journal ArticleDOI
Radial versus femoral access in patients with acute coronary syndromes with or without ST-segment elevation
Pascal Vranckx,Enrico Frigoli,Martina Rothenbühler,Francesco Tomassini,Stefano Garducci,Giuseppe Andò,Andrea Picchi,Paolo Sganzerla,A. Paggi,Fabrizio Ugo,Arturo Ausiello,Gennaro Sardella,Nicoletta Franco,Marco Stefano Nazzaro,Nicoletta De Cesare,Paolo Tosi,Camillo Falcone,Carlo Vigna,Pietro Mazzarotto,Emilio Di Lorenzo,Claudio Moretti,Gianluca Campo,Carlo Penzo,Giampaolo Pasquetto,Dik Heg,Peter Jüni,Stephan Windecker,Marco Valgimigli,Matrix Investigators +28 more
TL;DR: Radial as compared with femoral access provided consistent benefit across the whole spectrum of patients with ACS, without evidence that type of presenting syndrome affected the results of the random access allocation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pharmacodynamic Effect of Switching Therapy in Patients With High On-Treatment Platelet Reactivity and Genotype Variation With High Clopidogrel Dose Versus Prasugrel The RESET GENE Trial
Gennaro Sardella,Simone Calcagno,Massimo Mancone,Raffaele Palmirotta,Luigi Lucisano,Emanuele Canali,Rocco Stio,Mauro Pennacchi,Angelo Di Roma,Giulia Benedetti,Fiorella Guadagni,Giuseppe Biondi-Zoccai,Francesco Fedele +12 more
TL;DR: HTPR is successfully abolished by therapy with prasugrel irrespective of CYP2C19 genotype, and high-dose clopidogrel can address HTPR only in CYP1C19*2 noncarriers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic factors in severe pulmonary hypertension patients who need parenteral prostanoid therapy: the impact of late referral.
Roberto Badagliacca,Beatrice Pezzuto,Roberto Poscia,Massimo Mancone,Silvia Papa,Serena Marcon,Gabriele Valli,Gennaro Sardella,Fabio Ferrante,C. Iacoboni,Daniela Parola,Francesco Fedele,Carmine Dario Vizza +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a prostanoid treatment for precapillary pulmonary hypertension (PH) patients was provided in non-expert centers, where patients were referred to a tertiary PH center.
Journal ArticleDOI
In-hospital and midterm clinical outcomes of rotational atherectomy followed by stent implantation: the ROTATE multicentre registry.
Hiroyoshi Kawamoto,Azeem Latib,Neil Ruparelia,Neil Ruparelia,Alfonso Ielasi,Fabrizio D'Ascenzo,Mauro Pennacchi,Gennaro Sardella,Roberto Garbo,Emanuele Meliga,Claudio Moretti,Marco Rossi,Patrizia Presbitero,Caroline J. Magri,Sunao Nakamura,Antonio Colombo,Giacomo Boccuzzi +16 more
TL;DR: RA appears to be safe and effective with acceptable in-hospital and follow-up MACE considering the severity of patient and lesion characteristics, and DES implantation following RA was associated with a reduction in MACE during the follow- up period.
Journal ArticleDOI
Frequency of naturally-occurring regulatory T cells is reduced in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction
Gennaro Sardella,Leonardo De Luca,Vittorio Francavilla,Daniele Accapezzato,Massimo Mancone,Maria Isabella Sirinian,Francesco Fedele,Marino Paroli +7 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that the percentage of circulating Treg is significantly reduced in patients with STEMI, suggesting that this immunosuppressive T-cell subset is compartmentalized within the acutely ischemic myocardium to limit the ongoing inflammation associated with this condition, and that coronary revascularization is associated with partial reconstitution of peripheral Treg pool.
