Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of endoglucanases and hemicellulases in magnetic and flotation deinking of xerographic and laser-printed papers

TL;DR: The nature of the individual endoglucanase seems to play an important role since different deinking efficiencies and strength properties were measured with EGS and EGT, which are closely related enzymes in terms of molecular properties and specificities on model substrates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enzymatic removal of hemicellulose from dissolving pulps

TL;DR: Hemicellulases and an endoglucanase from seven different fungi were assessed for their potential to solubilze mannan and xylan from softwood sulfite dissolving pulps and a xylanase from Thermomyces lanuginosus and a mannanase from Sclerotium rolfsii acted synergistically on the pulpsolubilizing 50% more mannanand 11% more xylan than did the individual enzymes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lignin-hemicellulose complexes restrict enzymatic solubilization of mannan and xylan from dissolving pulp

TL;DR: Mannan and xylan present in bleached softwood dissolving pulp were found to be partially resistant to hemicellulases even after repeated enzyme treatment, despite the additional effect of an endoglucanase.
