A series of arylantimony ferrocenecarboxylates with the formula (C 5 H 5 FeC 5 H 4 CO 2 ) n SbAr (5-n) (n = 1, 2; Ar = C 6 H 5 , 4-CH 3 C 6 H 4 , 3-CH 3 C 6 H 4 , 2-CH 3 C 6 H 4 , 4-ClC 6 H 4 , 4-FC 6 H 4 ) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1 H NMR and mass spectra. The crystal structures of (C 5 H 5 FeC 5 H 4 CO 2 ) 2 Sb(4-CH 3 C 6 H 4 ) 3 and C 5 H 5 FeC 5 H 4 CO 2 SbPh 4 were determined by X-ray diffraction. Four human neoplastic cell lines (HL-60, Bel-7402, KB and Hela) were used to screen these compounds. The results indicate that these compounds at 10 μM show certain in vitro antitumor activities.

Synthesis, crystal structures and in vitro antitumor activities of some organoantimony arylhydroxamates

Bifunctional Lewis acidic group 15 compounds have emerged as appealing platforms for anion sensing and organocatalysis. As part of our interest in the chemistry of these compounds, we have now compared the catalytic properties of [o-(MePPh2)C6H4SbPh2]+ ([3]+), [o-(PPh2)C6H4SbPh3]+ ([4]+), [o-(MePPh2)C6H4SbPh3]2+ ([5]2+), and [o-C6H4(SbMePh2)2]2+ ([6]2+) using the transfer hydrogenation of 2-phenyl-quinoline and 3-bromoquinoline with a Hantzsch ester benchmark reactions. This study, which also involved an evaluation of the catalytic properties of [Ph4Sb]+ and [Ph3MeP]+, shows that antimony cations are generally more active than their phosphorus counterparts and neutral stiboranes. Our results also demonstrate that dicationic systems such as [6]2+ are superior activators.

A series of novel tetraphenylantimony derivatives of exo-7-oxa-bicyclo[2,2,1] heptane (ene)-3-arylamide-2-acid of the general formula Ph 4 SbO 2 CCHCHCH 2 CH 2 CH(O)CHCONHAr (Ar = Ph,4-ClC 6 H 4 , 4-BrC 6 H 4 , 3-BrC 6 H 4 , 4-F-3-ClC 6 H 3 and 4-MeC 6 H 4 ) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1 H NMR and mass spectra. The crystal structure of Ph 4 SbO 2 CCHCHCH 2 CH 2 CH(O)CHCONHC 6 H 4 CH 3 .CHCl 3 was determined by X-ray diffraction. Five human neoplastic cell lines (HL-60, KB, Bel-7402, BGC-823 and HCT-8) were used to screen these compounds. The results indicate that these compounds at 10 μM show certain in vitro antitumor activities.
