Compensatory Enlargement of Human Atherosclerotic Coronary Arteries
Seymour Glagov,Elliot Weisenberg,Christopher K. Zarins,Regina Stankunavicius,George J. Kolettis +4 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that human coronary arteries enlarge in relation to plaque area and that functionally important lumen stenosis may be delayed until the lesion occupies 40 percent of the internal elastic lamina area.
Journal ArticleDOI
Differential enlargement of artery segments in response to enlarging atherosclerotic plaques
Christopher K. Zarins,Elliot Weisenberg,George J. Kolettis,Regina Stankunavicius,Seymour Glagov +4 more
TL;DR: The relationships among intimal plaque area, lumen area, and artery size in 481 sections of the left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery taken at four standard sampling sites in 125 pressure-perfusion-fixed postmortem adult human hearts were studied.
Do atherosclerotic coronary arteries undergo compensatory enlargement in humans
S. S. Glagov,Elliot Weisenberg,Christopher K. Zarins,George J. Kolettis,Regina Stankunavicius +4 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Minced Muscle Autografting Improves Bone Healing but not Muscle Function in a Porcine Composite Injury Model.
Todd O. McKinley,Roman N Natoli,Naveena B. Janakiram,Stuart J. Warden,Robyn K. Fuchs,Zachary J. Gunderson,Nichlaus Diggins,Seungyup Sun,George J. Kolettis,Stephen M. Goldman,Christopher L. Dearth,Stephen Mendenhall,Caio de Andrade Staut,Melissa A. Kacena,Benjamin T. Corona +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, skeletal muscle autografting with minced muscle grafts (MMGs) was shown to improve healing in a SBD and improve muscle function in a porcine CTI model.
