Maternal Immunization Earlier in Pregnancy Maximizes Antibody Transfer and Expected Infant Seropositivity Against Pertussis
Christiane S. Eberhardt,Geraldine Blanchard-Rohner,Barbara Lemaître,Meriem Boukrid,Christophe Combescure,Véronique Othenin-Girard,Antonina Chilin,Jean Petre,Begoña Martinez de Tejada,Claire-Anne Siegrist +9 more
TL;DR: It is shown that this narrow window for vaccinated women against pertussis can be widened, as optimal neonatal antibody concentrations and expected infant seropositivity rates are elicited between weeks 13 and 33.
Journal ArticleDOI
Appearance of peripheral blood plasma cells and memory B cells in a primary and secondary immune response in humans
Geraldine Blanchard-Rohner,Anoop S. Pulickal,Cornelia M. Jol-van der Zijde,Matthew D. Snape,Andrew J. Pollard +4 more
TL;DR: This is the first study to document the detailed kinetics of the plasma cell and memory B-cell responses to immunization in adult humans and to demonstrate differences in the responses that relate to the preexisting immune status of the persons.
Journal ArticleDOI
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) Viral Load in the Upper Respiratory Tract of Children and Adults With Early Acute Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Stéphanie Baggio,Arnaud G L'Huillier,Arnaud G L'Huillier,Sabine Yerly,Mathilde Bellon,Noémie Wagner,Marie Rohr,Angela Huttner,Geraldine Blanchard-Rohner,Natasha Loevy,Laurent Kaiser,Frederique Jacquerioz,Isabella Eckerle +12 more
TL;DR: Viral load at the time of diagnosis in 53 children and 352 adults with COVID-19 in the first 5 days post symptom onset and no significant differences in SARS-CoV-2 RNA loads were seen between children and adults.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acceptability of maternal immunization against influenza: the critical role of obstetricians.
Geraldine Blanchard-Rohner,Sara Meier,Joelle Ryser,Diane Schaller,Christophe Combescure,Mark H. Yudin,Claudine Burton-Jeangros,Begoña Martinez de Tejada,Claire-Anne Siegrist +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that improving immunization safety/efficacy awareness among obstetricians as the most likely method to improve flu immunization during pregnancy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pertussis Antibody Transfer to Preterm Neonates After Second- Versus Third-Trimester Maternal Immunization
Christiane S. Eberhardt,Christiane S. Eberhardt,Geraldine Blanchard-Rohner,Barbara Lemaître,Christophe Combescure,Véronique Othenin-Girard,Antonina Chilin,Jean Petre,Begoña Martinez de Tejada,Claire-Anne Siegrist,Claire-Anne Siegrist +10 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that second- rather than third-trimester maternal vaccination results in higher birth anti-pertussis toxin titers in preterm neonates.
