Microstructure and corrosion behavior of multipass gas tungsten arc welded 304L stainless steel
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of single pass and multipass (double and triple pass) gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) on microstructure, hardness and corrosion behavior of 304L stainless steel was discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Laser welding of NiTi shape memory alloy: Comparison of the similar and dissimilar joints to AISI 304 stainless steel
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative study on laser welding of NiTi wire to itself and to AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel wire has been made, where microstructures, mechanical properties and fracture morphologies of the laser joints were investigated using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Vickers microhardness (HV0.2) and tensile testing techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of interlayers on the microstructure and wear resistance of Stellite 6 coatings deposited on AISI 420 stainless steel by GTAW technique
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative study has been conducted on Stellite 6 weld overlays deposited on the surface of AISI 420 martensitic stainless steel turbine blade with and without use of gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW).
Journal ArticleDOI
Nanodiamond nanofluid microstructural and thermo-electrical characterization
TL;DR: In this paper, the microstructural and thermo-electrical properties of diamond nanofluids, which were prepared by dispersing fully functionalized diamond nanoparticles, initially synthesized by the detonation method, into deionized water used as the base fluid in three different concentrations (0.01, 0.1 and 0.25
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Post Weld Heat Treatment on Mechanical and Corrosion Behaviors of NiTi and Stainless Steel Laser-Welded Wires
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of post weld heat treatment (PWHT) on mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of NiTi shape memory wire, laser welded to the 304 stainless steel wire were investigated.
