Journal ArticleDOI
A short training programme for the rapid improvement of both aerobic and anaerobic metabolism
TL;DR: This new protocol, which utilises short durations, high loads and long recovery periods, seems to be an effective programme for improving the enzymatic activities of the energetic pathways in a short period of time.
Journal ArticleDOI
The athlete monitoring cycle: a practical guide to interpreting and applying training monitoring data
Tim J. Gabbett,George P. Nassis,Eric Oetter,Johan Pretorius,Nick Johnston,Daniel Medina,Gil Rodas,Tom Myslinski,Dan Howells,Adam Beard,Allan J. Ryan +10 more
TL;DR: A practical guide to strategic planning, analysing, interpreting and applying athlete monitoring data in the sporting environment irrespective of data management software is provided.
Journal ArticleDOI
The distribution of rest periods affects performance and adaptations of energy metabolism induced by high-intensity training in human muscle
TL;DR: It is indicated that high-intensity cycling training in 14 sessions improves enzyme activities of anaerobic and aerobic metabolism, and shorter rest periods produce larger increase in pyruvate kinase, creatine kinase and lactate dehydrogenase.
Journal ArticleDOI
Strength and endurance in elite football players.
TL;DR: The concurrent strength and endurance training program together with regular football training resulted in considerable improvement of the players' physical capacity and so may be successfully introduced to elite football players.
Journal ArticleDOI
Localized bioimpedance to assess muscle injury.
TL;DR: Findings indicate that decreases in R reflect localized fluid accumulation, and reductions in Xc and PA highlight disruption of cellular membrane integrity and injury.
